The Havapoo is a hybrid breed resulting from the cross between the Havanese and the Poodle, developed in the United States in the 1990s to create a dog that combines the friendly, joyful, and sociable nature of the Havanese with the intelligence of the Poodle. It has a gentle disposition and enjoys spending time with its family, often seeking attention and affection. However, being curious, it can also show some independence during playtime or when exploring its environment.

Always ready to play, it loves interactive games and activities that stimulate its mind, making it an excellent family dog. It enjoys learning and making its owners proud, and it is very easy to train.

Physical Characteristics

The Havapoo has a long, soft, and silky coat, often curly or wavy, and its fur can come in a wide variety of colors. Its head is round with a slightly flat skull and expressive eyes. The tail is carried high, sometimes curled over the back. Its ears are floppy and well-proportioned, giving it a charming appearance

Its Drawbacks

The Havapoo requires regular grooming, so maintaining its coat can be demanding. Since it is a very intelligent dog, it’s important to provide it with enough mental stimulation.
